ROBERTS COUNTY, TX — A 5.0 magnitude quake struck close to Spearman on Thursday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A tremor hit the area at 10:21 a.m. (5:21 a.m. local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was about 24 miles south-southeast of Spearman and occurred at a depth of 4 miles. Seismologists first reported it as a 4.4 event, but later upgraded it to 5.0.
