Seismic activity on Oct. 5: Earthquake near ‘Ohonua, Tonga registered – magnitude 5.0

‘EUA PROPE, ‘Eua — A 5.0 magnitude quake jolted close to ‘Ohonua on Monday afternoon, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

A tremor shook the area at 05:26 UTC (17:26 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was roughly 71 km east of ‘Ohonua and occurred at a depth of 10 km.
