Update: 5.3 magnitude earthquake strikes near Boyuibe, Bolivia on Dec. 30

LUIS CALVO, Chuquisaca Department — the U.S. Geological Survey reported that a 5.3 magnitude quake hit close to Boyuibe Tuesday afternoon.

At 20:26 UTC (16:26 local time), the region was shaken by a tremor. The earthquake jolted at a depth of 554 km, with its epicenter approximately 26 km south-southeast of Boyuibe.
