Update: Earthquake measuring 5.2 shakes area close to Port Blair, India on July 13

A 5.2 magnitude quake was registered close to Port Blair Sunday evening, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A tremor hit the region at 13:14 UTC (19:14 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was located approximately 285 km south-southeast of Port Blair and occurred at a depth of 11 km. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.4 event, but later downgraded it to 5.2.
