Seismic activity on Oct. 1: Earthquake close to Lata, Solomon Islands reported – magnitude 5.1

A 5.1 magnitude quake occurred near Lata on Thursday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which struck the area at 20:00 UTC (07:00 local time), was centered roughly 176 km southeast of Lata. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.
