A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred close to Tobelo on Monday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A tremor shook the area at 09:40 UTC (18:40 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was about 73 km west of Tobelo and occurred at a depth of 104 km. The magnitude was originally reported as 5.1 but later downgraded to 5.0.
