A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred close to Nobeoka on Monday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The USGS reported a tremor in the region at 13:38 UTC (22:38 local time). The epicenter was roughly 38 km east of Nobeoka, at a depth of 43 km.
