MBARALI, Mbeya Region — A 5.1 magnitude quake occurred close to Africa on Wednesday evening, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The USGS reported a tremor in the region at 18:12 UTC (20:12 local time). The epicenter was south of Africa, at a depth of 10 km.
