Earthquake rattles area near Sarangani, Philippines: 5.0 magnitude registered on Aug. 9

A 5.0 magnitude quake struck near Sarangani on Sunday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which shook the region at 22:17 UTC (06:17 local time), was centered roughly 198 km southeast of Sarangani. It occurred at a depth of 35 km.
