A 5.0 magnitude quake struck close to Sarangani on Sunday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which shook the area at 22:17 UTC (06:17 local time), was centered roughly 206 km southeast of Sarangani. It occurred at a depth of 35 km.

Two quakes closeby last week

In the past week, there have been two tremors greater than magnitude 2.5 centered in the region. Both were reported in the same area where the larger one was a 4.9 earthquake that occurred prior to this quake. The other, of magnitude 4.5, jolted on Aug. 8.
