Sept. 30: Earthquake of 5.1 magnitude registered near Kokopo, Papua New Guinea

A 5.1 magnitude quake occurred close to Kokopo on Wednesday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The USGS reported a tremor in the region at 08:15 UTC (18:15 local time). The epicenter was roughly 121 km south of Kokopo, at a depth of 28 km.
