Update: 5.7 magnitude earthquake jolts near Kentrí, Greece on April 24

CRETE, Decentralized Administration of Crete — A 5.7 magnitude quake occurred close to Kentrí on Friday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor shook at 03:18 UTC (06:18 local time), with its epicenter roughly 9 km east of Kentrí and a depth of 15 km. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.8 event, but later downgraded it to 5.7.
