TAPACHULA, Chis. — A 5.0 magnitude quake rattled close to Puerto Madero on Friday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor jolted the area at 15:30 UTC (09:30 local time). It occurred at a depth of 56 km with the epicenter about 65 km southwest of Puerto Madero.

In the past week, four tremors of magnitude 2.5 or above have been reported in the area. The biggest, a 7.3 magnitude quake, slammed in the same region prior to this quake.
