MBARALI, Mbeya Region — A 5.7 magnitude quake shook close to Africa on Sunday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which struck the area at 20:54 UTC (22:54 local time), was centered south of Africa. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.
