TAPACHULA, Chis. — A 5.0 magnitude quake rattled close to Puerto Madero on Friday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor jolted the area at 15:30 UTC (09:30 local time). It occurred at a depth of 54 km with the epicenter about 66 km southwest of Puerto Madero.

Tremors last week

In the past week, three tremors of magnitude 2.5 or above have been reported in the region. The biggest, a 5.0 magnitude quake, struck near Congregación Reforma on Jul. 13.
