A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred close to Lata on Sunday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

At 22:51 UTC (09:51 local time), a tremor jolted the region at a depth of 10 km, with its epicenter roughly 201 km south-southeast of Lata. The magnitude was originally reported as 4.9 but later upgraded to 5.0.
