A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred close to South Sandwich Islands region on Monday evening, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

At 21:37 UTC (19:37 local time), a tremor shook the region at a depth of 10 km, with its epicenter of South Sandwich Islands region.
