ALEUTIANS EAST BOROUGH, AK — A 5.4 magnitude quake was registered close to Sand Point around midday Wednesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor hit at 8:42 p.m. (12:42 p.m. local time), with its epicenter located roughly 58 miles south-southeast of Sand Point and a depth of 27 miles.
