Seismic activity on Oct. 10: Earthquake near Baculin, Philippines detected – magnitude 5.0

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.0 magnitude quake occurred close to Baculin Friday night.

The tremor, which rattled the area at 13:13 UTC (21:13 local time), was centered roughly 67 km east of Baculin. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.

Last week, there have been five quakes with a magnitude 5.5 or greater centered nearby. The most significant was a 7.4 magnitude earthquake reported close to Santiago prior to this quake.
