NEW PLYMOUTH DISTRICT, Taranaki Region — A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred near Inglewood on Friday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

At 13:57 UTC (02:57 local time), a tremor struck the region at a depth of 10 km, with its epicenter roughly 6 km east of Inglewood.
