A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred close to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky around midday Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
The tremor, which rattled the area at 02:59 UTC (13:59 local time), was centered roughly 163 km southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.
