System name: Fay

At 10 a.m. Saturday, the National Hurricane Center issued an advisory stating that Fay was previously a tropical storm but has since weakened and devolved to a tropical depression with sustained winds of 35 mph. Tropical Depression Fay is in the Atlantic Ocean, 1,130 miles west-southwest of the Azores. The system, with maximum sustained winds of 35 mph, is moving west-southwest at 5 mph.

“A more southerly turn and an increase in forward speed is expected to occur over the next few days,” meteorologists wrote. They also said “Little change in strength is forecast over the next several days.”
