Update: Nov. 9 – 5.2 magnitude earthquake recorded close to Yamada, Japan

Sunday afternoon, a 5.2 magnitude quake was detected near Yamada, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor hit the area at 08:49 UTC (18:49 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter situated roughly 131 km east of Yamada.

Tremors last week

Last week, 19 tremors of magnitude 2.5 or above have been registered in the region, four of them larger than magnitude 5.5. The largest, measuring 6.8, rocked the same region prior to this quake.
