Oct. 9: Earthquake of 5.0 magnitude detected close to Río Grande, Panama

SONÁ DISTRICT — A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred near Río Grande on Friday afternoon, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The USGS reported a tremor in the region at 19:04 UTC (14:04 local time). The epicenter was roughly 14 km southeast of Río Grande, at a depth of 10 km.
