Update: Earthquake hits region near Vilyuchinsk, Russia on March 1 – 5.0 magnitude recorded

A 5.0 magnitude quake was detected close to Vilyuchinsk Sunday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The tremor, which jolted the area at 19:38 UTC (06:38 local time), was centered approximately 157 km southeast of Vilyuchinsk. It occurred at a depth of 28 km.
