QALANSIYAH WA ABD AL KURI, Socotra — A 5.0 magnitude quake was detected close to Qalansīyah Wednesday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The tremor shook the region at 00:27 UTC (04:27 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter situated about 174 km north-northeast of Qalansīyah.
