A 5.1 magnitude quake occurred close to South Sandwich Islands region on Monday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which jolted the area at 17:45 UTC (15:45 local time), was centered of South Sandwich Islands region. It occurred at a depth of 101 km.
