According to the National Hurricane Center’s 10 p.m. Friday advisory, Gonzalo departed Cabo Verde and moved towards the Atlantic Ocean. Tropical Storm Gonzalo is in the Atlantic Ocean, 30 miles east-northeast of Sal Cabo Verde. With maximum sustained winds of 45 mph, the system is moving north at 9 mph.

“… the center will move away from northeastern portion of the Cabo Verde Islands today,” forecasters observed.
