BARISAL DISTRICT, Barisal Division — A 5.1 magnitude quake shook close to Barishal on Thursday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A tremor hit the region at 00:35 UTC (05:35 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was about 59 km north-northwest of Barishal and occurred at a depth of 59 km.
