Update: Earthquake of 5.3 magnitude recorded close to Puyo, Ecuador on Sept. 3

PASTAZA CANTON, Pastaza — A 5.3 magnitude quake was registered close to Puyo Wednesday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It was reported that a tremor jolted the region at 14:56 UTC (09:56 local time). The epicenter was located about 16 km east of Puyo, at a depth of 162 km.
