Update: Seismic activity on Sept. 14 – 5.3 magnitude earthquake near Sungai Penuh, Indonesia detected

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.3 magnitude quake struck near Sungai Penuh Sunday night.

At 14:49 UTC (21:49 local time), the region was hit by a tremor. The earthquake jolted at a depth of 75 km, with its epicenter about 89 km south-southwest of Sungai Penuh.
