SAN JOSÉ DEL PALMAR, Choco — A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred close to San José del Palmar on Monday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which hit the area at 13:18 UTC (08:18 local time), was centered approximately 16 km west of San José del Palmar. It occurred at a depth of 99 km.
