5.0 magnitude earthquake strikes close to Kerema, Papua New Guinea on Aug. 11

KIKORI DISTRICT, Gulf Province — A 5.0 magnitude quake shook near Kerema on Tuesday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The tremor, which rattled the area at 17:06 UTC (03:06 local time), was centered roughly 107 km west-northwest of Kerema. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.
