Update: 5.0 magnitude earthquake detected close to Port-Vila, Vanuatu on May 31

A 5.0 magnitude quake struck near Port-Vila at midday on Sunday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The USGS reported a tremor in the region at 02:48 UTC (13:48 local time). The epicenter was approximately 71 km northwest of Port-Vila, at a depth of 35 km.
