Earthquake strikes area close to Ovalle, Chile: 5.0 magnitude registered on June 13

LIMARÍ PROVINCE, Coquimbo — A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred near Ovalle on Saturday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

At 12:04 UTC (08:04 local time), a tremor hit the region at a depth of 61 km, with its epicenter about 24 km west of Ovalle.
