Update: Earthquake hits region near Dunhuang, China on June 30 – 5.3 magnitude registered

A 5.3 magnitude quake shook close to Dunhuang on Tuesday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The USGS reported a tremor in the area at 23:44 UTC (07:44 local time). The epicenter was roughly 272 km south-southeast of Dunhuang, at a depth of 10 km. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.2 event, but later upgraded it to 5.3.
