A 5.3 magnitude quake occurred near El Progreso on Tuesday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

At 21:01 UTC (14:01 local time), a tremor hit the region at a depth of 10 km, with its epicenter approximately 98 km south-southwest of El Progreso.
