ALEUTIANS WEST CENSUS AREA, AK — A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred close to Unalaska on Saturday night, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
At 10:38 a.m. (11:38 p.m. local time), a tremor jolted the region at a depth of 26 miles, with its epicenter about 58 miles south-southwest of Unalaska. The magnitude was originally reported as 5.2 but later downgraded to 5.0.
