A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred close to Ternate on Thursday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The USGS reported a tremor in the region at 05:41 UTC (14:41 local time). The epicenter was roughly 119 km west-northwest of Ternate, at a depth of 35 km.
