Update: Earthquake measuring 6.2 rocks area near Hihifo, Tonga on March 22

NIUATOPUTAPU, Niuas — A 6.2 magnitude quake occurred close to Hihifo on Sunday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The tremor, which hit the region at 15:27 UTC (03:27 local time), was centered approximately 152 km east-northeast of Hihifo. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.
