An updated red flag warning was issued by the National Weather Service on Wednesday at 9:41 p.m. valid for Thursday between noon and 8 p.m. for North Fork and Gunnison Basin.

The NWS states that the warning was issued for gusty winds, low relative humidity and dry fuels. Winds are forecasted to be northwest 5 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph and relative humidity 6 to 11%.

“Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended,” says the NWS.
