A 5.1 magnitude quake struck near Masohi on Friday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

At 23:17 UTC (08:17 local time), a tremor hit the region at a depth of 10 km, with its epicenter approximately 132 km east-northeast of Masohi.

In the past week, there have been two tremors greater than magnitude 2.5 centered in the same area. The largest, a 5.3 magnitude earthquake, hit prior to this quake, while the other, measuring 4.4, rattled on Jul. 1.
