Update: July 20 – 5.2 magnitude earthquake registered near Javānrūd, Iran

KERMANSHAH, Kermanshah Province — A 5.2 magnitude quake occurred close to Javānrūd on Monday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor shook the area at 03:48 UTC (07:18 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter approximately 28 km south of Javānrūd.

The agency has so far received 4 reports via its online form from people who say they experienced weak shaking. Several residents reported feeling the quake in and around the Ecbatana area according to the USGS DYFI report.
