Update: Seismic activity on May 22 – 5.0 magnitude earthquake close to Nagqu, China recorded

A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred close to Nagqu on Friday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The tremor rattled at 17:16 UTC (01:16 local time), with its epicenter about 280 km northwest of Nagqu and a depth of 10 km. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.1 event, but later downgraded it to 5.0.
