TOMIL, Yap — A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred close to State of Yap on Thursday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor jolted at 05:35 UTC (15:35 local time), with its epicenter of State of Yap and a depth of 10 km. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.1 event, but later downgraded it to 5.0.
