NEFTCHALA — A 5.6 magnitude quake occurred near Sovetabad around midday Wednesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which struck the area at 09:05 UTC (12:05 local time), was centered approximately 63 km south-southeast of Sovetabad. It occurred at a depth of 21 km.
