March 25: Earthquake of 5.0 magnitude reported close to Kokopo, Papua New Guinea

A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred near Kokopo on Wednesday evening, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor struck at 10:59 UTC (20:59 local time), with its epicenter about 164 km south of Kokopo and a depth of 10 km.
