A 5.3 magnitude quake was recorded near Palompon Thursday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor shook at 21:39 UTC (05:39 local time), with its epicenter situated about 16 km west-southwest of Palompon and a depth of 10 km.

Weak shaking was observed, with reports from cities such as Calero and Mandawa indicating that the tremor was felt, according to the USGS DYFI report.
