Update: Earthquake strikes region near Ushuaia, Argentina on Aug. 19 – 5.2 magnitude recorded

USHUAIA DEPARTMENT, Tierra del Fuego Province — A 5.2 magnitude quake was registered close to Ushuaia Tuesday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

At 06:08 UTC (02:08 local time), the area was jolted by a tremor. The earthquake shook at a depth of 10 km, with its epicenter about 267 km south-southeast of Ushuaia. The magnitude was originally reported as 5.7 but later downgraded to 5.2.
