Update: Earthquake of 5.1 magnitude registered close to Jurm, Afghanistan on Aug. 19

JURM, Badakhshan — Tuesday morning, a 5.1 magnitude quake was detected near Jurm, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It was reported that a tremor hit the region at 05:19 UTC (09:49 local time). The epicenter was located roughly 41 km south of Jurm, at a depth of 196 km.
