NATÁ DISTRICT, Coclé Province — A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred close to Panama on Wednesday evening, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The tremor jolted the region at 01:20 UTC (19:20 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter south of Panama.
